The Dorsey. Situated on private land at the top of Bond's Road four miles from Crossmaglen off the A29 Newtownhamilton / Dundalk Road, this substantial iron age monument, which dates from the same period as Navan Fort, is an entrenchment that formed part of an ancient boundary between Ulster and Leinster.

Fishing in South Armagh

LICENCE / PERMITS

Kiltybane Lake - rod licence required and day permits £10 per head available from Mr. John Boyle 54 Newry Road, Crossmaglen. Tel: +44-028-30-868085. or from Mr. Phil Nolan Tel: +44-028-30-868074.

Loughross and Newry Canal - rod licence required.

Cashel Lake (Upper and Lower) Glassdrummond and Carrigan Lakes
- rod licence required and if not a member of a local club, day permit can be obtained from Mr. Gene Murphy Tel: +44-028-30-888607.

Mullaghbane Lake- rod licence required and if not a member of a local club, day permit can be obtained from Mr. Pat McKenna at Mullaghbane Post Office.

Lough Patrick, Lough Alina and Lough Peter are ideal for coarse fishing.

The Cully, Fane, Forkhill and Creggan rivers are also ideal for trout fishing but permission from local landowners should be sought for access to each lake and river.

Camloch Lake is also suitable for coarse fishing.

Other small rural lakes are available in the area contact the Tourist office, Crossmaglen for further information.
